Katie is an associate at Wiggin and Dana in the Litigation Department and a member of the Medical Malpractice Defense Practice Group and the Insurance Defense Practice Group.

Katie has experience drafting and arguing motions in both State and Federal Court, taking and defending fact and expert depositions, and preparing cases for trial. In February 2020, Katie second-chaired a jury trial that produced a defense verdict for one of the firm’s health care clients. Katie drafted and argued several motions in limine and prepared both fact and expert witnesses to testify at trial. Recently, Katie has helped secure several dismissals of COVID-19 business interruption insurance claims.

Before joining Wiggin and Dana, Katie was a Child Protection Legal Intern for the State of Connecticut Office of the Attorney General. Prior to that, she was a Public Defender Intern for the State of Connecticut Public Defender Services.

Katie received her J.D. magna cum laude from Wake Forest University School of Law, where she was the Symposium Editor of the Wake Forest University Law Review and received CALI Awards for Excellence in Civil Procedure I, Contracts I, Criminal Law, Legal Analysis Writing and Research, Collaborative Law, Litigation Drafting, Bioethics, and Family Law. She was elected a member of the Order of the Coif upon graduation. She also received the Outstanding Family Law Student Award for leadership and excellence in the advancement of family law in 2018 from the North Carolina Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. While at Wake Forest, she was a Teacher’s Assistant for Legal Analysis Writing and Research I and II, Appellate Advocacy, and Public Interest Drafting. She received her B.A. magna cum laude in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice from the University of Connecticut.
